Parents often ask us when a child should first see a dentist. The Canadian Dental Association recommends a first visit within six months of the first tooth appearing, or by one year of age. Starting early helps children get comfortable in the chair before any treatment is ever needed.
Our team takes a calm, age-appropriate approach with young patients. A typical children’s visit includes a warm introduction, a gentle exam, a professional cleaning, and fluoride recommendations based on your child’s age, diet, and cavity risk. We also coach kids (and parents) on brushing and flossing habits that actually stick.
Dental pain rarely checks your calendar first. We offer emergency dentistry whenever scheduling permits, including same-day appointments when available, for concerns such as toothaches, swelling, cracked or chipped teeth, broken restorations, and injuries from accidents or sports.
If an adult tooth is knocked out, keep it moist, avoid touching the root, and seek dental care right away. For symptoms such as trouble breathing or swallowing, spreading facial swelling, or uncontrolled bleeding, go to the nearest emergency department or call emergency services first. For everything else, reach out to our team promptly so we can advise on availability.
We provide dentist-supervised take-home whitening kits with custom-fitted trays and professional-grade whitening gel. We do not offer in-office whitening. The take-home approach lets you brighten gradually at home while your dentist adjusts the plan for sensitivity, starting shade, and your cosmetic goals.
Whitening works well on many surface stains from coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco, and aging, though results vary from person to person. Fillings, crowns, and veneers may not whiten the same way natural teeth do, so an exam is often recommended first to check for cavities, gum inflammation, or exposed roots.
Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually move teeth into better alignment. Treatment in our office begins with a consultation and a digital 3D scan using our iTero Lumina 5D scanner (no goopy impressions required). From there, we plan your treatment, fit your custom aligners, and monitor progress with periodic checkups. Retainers help protect your results once treatment ends.
Many patients choose Invisalign for its discreet appearance and the freedom to remove aligners for eating and brushing. Treatment time and cost depend on the complexity of your case, so the practical first step is a consultation, where we can give you an accurate estimate.
A crown is a custom cap that restores a tooth weakened by significant decay, cracks, large fillings, wear, or root canal treatment. A bridge is a fixed restoration that replaces one or more missing teeth, which also helps keep neighbouring teeth from shifting out of position.
Our office offers CEREC® same-day crowns, which may allow suitable cases to be completed in a single visit. The crown is designed from a digital scan and milled right in our office, so many patients leave with their final restoration the same day instead of wearing a temporary for weeks.
Dental implants are small posts placed in the jawbone that act as artificial tooth roots. Once healed, an implant can support a crown, a bridge, or a denture. Options include single tooth implants, multiple tooth implants, implant-supported dentures, full-mouth implants, and same-day or immediate-load treatment for select cases.
Implant planning in our office uses CBCT imaging (a detailed 3D scan of your jaw) to evaluate bone support and map placement precisely. Candidacy depends on factors such as gum health, bone volume, bite function, overall health, and healing ability, which is why treatment always begins with a consultation and imaging rather than assumptions.
For patients diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea, a custom oral appliance may help keep the airway more open during sleep. Oral appliance therapy can be an option for some people with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea, and for some who cannot tolerate CPAP, though suitability must be determined professionally.
A physician or sleep specialist must diagnose sleep apnea before dental treatment begins, usually through a sleep study. Once you have a diagnosis, our team can work alongside your medical providers to discuss whether an appliance fits your situation. If you snore loudly, wake unrefreshed, or have been told your breathing pauses during sleep, a medical evaluation is a sensible first step.
Our practice is led by Dr. Giulio Spagnuolo, DDS, who is licensed by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and known for a calm, detail-oriented approach. We pair that experience with modern technology: digital radiography, Overjet AI to support diagnostic accuracy, the iTero Lumina 5D scanner, CBCT imaging, and CEREC same-day crowns.
